Sand Boarding and Educational Excursions

Fun and fitness in one activity!

Quick Details

School Group Sand Boarding and Educational Excursions, fun and fitness in one activity!

Bring your school group out for a brilliant couple of hours of sandboarding and sandsurfing adventure!  With us your students can try both sit down and stand up boarding! A great group bonding exercise as students encourage each other to challenge themselves, in a unique and spectacular setting.

Our sandboarding includes:

  • Fun and scenic 10 minute 4WD trip over the dunes to our sandboarding area and return.
  • Board hire for both sit down and stand up boarding (with and without straps)
  • Instruction and supervision
  • Various sized hills for all ages and abilities
  • Shade, tables and chairs (larger groups on weekdays we would normally do as private and therefore vehicles stay with group as shelter/shade)
  • Spend as long as you like – most groups spend 1-2 hours.
  • Lots of opportunity for memorable group photos.
  • On the way back, we can also stop on top of one of the highest dunes for some great views and more photos!

We can depart at any time that suits your group.

Best of all there are no cancellation fees! We also won’t make your group go out during bad weather conditions. If it is extremely windy/heavy rain/extreme heat we are more than happy to work in with you to move to a better time/date or cancel all together.

Looking to add some educational content to your sandboarding adventure?

We can combine sandboarding with any level of educational content for both primary and high school students. Some examples:

  • Beach and dune management practices
  • Human impacts on the environment
  • Pippi catch and release
  • We have even taken students to Tin City for something totally different – a bit of geography and history combined!

We can cater to small and larger groups (around 120 is our maximum).

For further information, availability and prices, please email us at sanddunesafaris@live.com.au with number of students, and your preferred dates.

Please Note: We are not able to run cultural excursions. The Worimi Conservation Lands are rich in cultural history, and the Worimi people welcome your enquiries. Murrook Cultural Centre holds a variety of cultural experiences and workshops for both primary and high school students. For more information please visit their website at www.worimi.org.au .
